These two artworks are based on photographs I took of the Mississippi River from the air while flying in and out of La Crosse. The river, the bluffs, and the broader Driftless Area possess a uniquely striking character. Having grown up in La Crosse, the hills and waterways feel deeply like home to me. Through these pieces, I aimed to capture the majesty of the Mississippi as it winds through the surrounding bluffs, as well as the sense of motion and vibrancy that defines this landscape.
